Our Story - A Family's Journey to Transform Tragedy into Purpose

A Family's DeterminationIn 2012, our world changed forever when our three sons and cousins—Archie, George, and Isaac—were diagnosed with a terminal disease. We didn't know then that we were beginning a journey that would redefine what family, hope, and resilience truly mean.Following Archie's death in 2022 at just 16 years old, his courage, his spirit, and his determination to live fully—despite everything—became the foundation for what DETERMEND represents today, helping others face their own impossible moments.His twin brothers, George and Isaac, will turn 16 this year. Every day with them is a gift, and every day we work to build something that honors not just Archie's memory, but the thousands of families walking similar paths.DETERMEND isn't just a company or a brand. It's a promise. A promise that loss can create light, that pain can produce purpose, and that one family's journey can help others find their way through the darkness.We're building the tools and platforms we wish we'd had—transparent fundraising that actually works, conversations about resilience that feel real, and clothing that gives dignity to people with disabilities.

A Brand Built Out of Necessity

DETERMEND wasn't born in a boardroom or designed by marketers. It emerged from the darkest moments of our lives—when our three sons and cousins, Archie, George, and Isaac, were diagnosed with a terminal disease. Following Archie's death at 16, we faced a choice: let grief consume us, or channel it into something that could help other families walking the same impossible path.This brand represents every sleepless night, every difficult conversation, every moment we refused to give up. It's built on the foundation of real experience, real pain, and real determination to create tools and resources we wish we'd had.

DETERMEND exists because it had to. And now it exists for YOU.

On May 1st, George & Isaac turn 16.
Their brother Archie passed away at 16.So we’re asking everyone to be part of this.Run, walk, cycle or anything. Just do 16 of something.e.g. 16km - 16 minutes - 1.6 miles - 16 push ups - 16 acts of kindness - 16 hugs - 16 hair cuts - 16 cupcakes - 16 drawings.Be part of a global movement raising awareness and supporting the fight to END Duchenne.Thank you for being DetermEND 🧡💪
